Just leaving for Devon where the Exeter Novel Prize ceremony will take place on Saturday 12th March – the day after my birthday. I’m a finalist for the award and have beaten hundreds of other writers to get here. I’m the only indie author to have made the final. Even better, the short list has been drawn up by fabulous agent Broo Doherty. Woo hoo. Go me! The novel which has been short listed is my #1 best seller – Scotch on the Rocks. If you want to find out more about that novel, read this blog. I’ll report back next week, hopefully clutching one of the prizes.
If you’d like to read about the locations I use in my novels – then check out this fabulous blog post by Barb Taub
And finally . . . a heart warming review by Sharon Booth
My favourite bit? This . . .
“Romance? The best kind. It starts off with mistrust and doubt, sparks fly, passion ignites and then…Well, some romances are forever. There’s nothing so romantic as a hero who vows never to hurt the heroine, never to leave her, and to love her forever. Especially when you just know he’s speaking the truth.”
I write contemporary women's fiction mostly based in Scotland with hot heroes, feisty heroines and always a happy ending. Along with three other authors - Adrienne Vaughan, June Kearns and Margaret Cullingford - I formed the New Romantics Press under which our books are published. I have published six books since 2012, the latest being Harper's Highland Fling. I am currently working on #7 which I hope to publish in 2022. In the meantime, do check out my Amazon page: viewAuthor.at/LizzieLamb and click 'FOLLOW' to keep up to date with me and my news.
Hi Luccia, you were ‘first up’ this morning and I apologise for the delay in replying to you – and all the other lovely writers. Am now in Devon on a campsite and catching up with everything. Thank you for you kind words and the fabulous blog post you created for me a week or two back.
Thank you Rosie. I am still thrilled to bits with that video/review oyu posted on YouTube for Scotch on the Rocks. No one has every done anything as lovely as that for me. You are a great supporter of indie authors.
Thank you, Maddie, I’m flying the flag for indie writers and everyone who’s done their best to write a good novel and to win a gathering band of readers.
Thank you so very much for your kind words, Rosie. It just goes to show what hard work and determination (and an open mind on the part of the judges) can achieve.
Break a leg Lambster … you’re already a winner in our eyes! So proud and chuffed for you. Scotch of the Rocks is a fabulous read, it deserves to be making history. XXX
Best of luck, Lizzie💗❤👏👏
